Charlottetown Rural captured the 2018 PEISAA Provincial Field Hockey championship with a hard fought 2-1 victory over the Mount. Bluefield defeated Colonel Gray 3-2 for Bronze. Click Read More for game details.
Rural's Isy Thompson scored first for Rural in the Gold Medal game but Hannah Leclair answered for the Mount and the teams went to the break tied 1-1. Megan Batchilder would score the eventual game winner on a penalty stroke with about 15 minutes to play.
In the Bronze game, goals came fast and furious in the first 20 minutes of play as Katie Douglas gave Colonel Gray the lead only to see Claire Pickens answer for Bluefield. This time it was Pickens scoring again to give Bluefield the lead but Douglas answered for Gray. The teams went to the half tied 2-2. Claire Pickens was not done though and scored her third goal of the game to lead the Bobcats to the Bronze Medal.
