Start time 8:30am from the Credit Union Place pool
Our transition zone where the students will keep their bicycles will be on the grassy area on the other side of the entrance to the pool from Notre Dame. It sits in front of the race track at the end of St Lawrence St.
Since the pool has 6 lanes we will have 2 students swimming per lane, this will give us only 12 people in each wave leaving the pool heading into the changerooms and towards the transition zone at one time.
The route is laid out as follows:
Students will swim in the pool various distances, head to changerooms at pool, then heading out back door facing Notre Dame Street. They will go along sidewalk to the transition area.
Once they get their bicycles they will walk across the street using the crosswalk on Notre Dame and hop onto their bikes heading down St Lawrence St. There is another crosswalk at the bottom of St Lawrence crossing Water Street where they will cross when safe to do so and head on the bike path going west. Depending on their age they will bike 2-3 loops all on boardwalk/bike path. With the bike part completed the students will then again cross Water Street bike up St Lawrence hop off bike and walk across Notre Dame to go into transition area and rack bike. Once they have done that, they will then begin their run, going down sidewalk on Notre Dame St. turn left onto Northumberland St running towards Willow Street. They will use crosswalk on Willow onto the rails to trails trail to complete their distance and return back to the transition where they have completed their event.
Once they have returned their bikes and start their run.
The distances of the event depending on age are:
Swimming 200M - 300M pool
Bike 10.8km – 14km
Run 1.5km-2.7km
