SIS Girls Win Int A Flag Football Title!

S'Side Intermediate Win A Gold in Girls Flag Football!
The number two ranked SIS Giants went into the gold medal game with only one loss on the season against the only team who beat them in the regular season, Hernwood.   SIS got on the board quickly on their first possession, on a touchdown pass from quarterback Maddy Keough to wide receiver Kristin Taylor, but missed the convert to give the Giants an early 6-0 lead.  However, Hernwood drove down the field on their next possession to tie the game at 6-6.  Just before halftime, Keough hit center Karlie Thompson on a five yard touchdown pass and with the convert it gave SIS a 13-6 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Giants defense which only allowed eighteen points all season, shut down Hernwood’s high powered offense with different zone schemes and quarterback pressure.  The Giants Keough threw two more second half touchdowns, one to wide receiver Ardyn Hardy and a second one to Taylor, to give SIS a 25-6 gold medal game victory.  This team which is comprised of all grade eight students will move up to AA next season.
East Wiltshire defeated Montague 34-12 to claim the bronze medal.
